The Ford Plantation is full of passionate people doing the things they love. A vibrant social calendar serves to strengthen both their interests and relationships. We approach each and every event as an opportunity to create lasting memories for our members. Our yearly social calendar is filled with dozens of events, from traditional favorites like oyster roasts and wine tastings to special events like guest chef wine dinners, marina block parties, and weddings. In the end, we are families serving families.
Homecoming is the most anticipated event of the year. Fall crackles with excitement as The Ford Plantation hosts a specially themed Homecoming weekend in October, allowing members to catch up with neighbors over an array of special events. During the weekend, members can attend an oyster roast, Homecoming Gala Dinner and Dance, Kids’ Explorer Day Camp and exclusive spa and fitness events.
Held at Henry Ford’s vintage Oyster House, The Ford Plantation regularly hosts traditional oyster roasts, featuring local oysters and a buffet of traditional southern fare. The oysters are steamed on site and served hot on our handcrafted oyster tables. Twinkling lights, live music, and libations add to the ambiance, while children roast marshmallows and make s’mores at the firepit.
The Ford Plantation celebrates the Kentucky Derby in true Southern style. The party takes place at The Main House where bow-ties, big hats, and mint juleps abound. Members snack on pre-race hors d’oeuvres expertly prepared by Chef Jerry and his staff. Once the Kentucky Derby concludes, everyone heads outside for The Ford Plantation Derby, an annual tradition in which small pigs race around a tiny track constructed right there on the back lawn. It’s truly a sight to behold.
